Teachers oppose promotions on the basis of academic index

CHANDIGARH: Expressing their dissent to the letter sent by the UT Education Department to promote teachers under the career advancement scheme (CAS) on the the basis of Academic Performance Index (API),the teachers held that the Education Department cannot promote teachers based on API,as the colleges are being governed by the Punjab government rules.

Case filed against former IPS officer

PANCHKULA: A local court has directed the police to register a case against a retired IPS officer on the complaint of his daughter-in-law who alleged that she was attacked by him at their residence in Sector 6 in the city last September.
