AroundTown: 17-yr-old commits suicide

A 17-year-old girl,who had recently appeared for her Class XII board examination,allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself at her house in Mauli Jagran,late on Thursday night.

CHANDIGARH: A 17-year-old girl,who had recently appeared for her Class XII board examination,allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself at her house in Mauli Jagran,late on Thursday night. No suicide note was recovered but family members have reportedly told the police that the girl had been suffering from depression for the past few days.

One held for sodomy

CHANDIGARH: A resident of Bihar was arrested for allegedly sodomising a four and a-half year old boy on Thursday. The accused has been identified as Dalip. Police have registered a case at the Sector 11 police station on the complaint of the victims family members. In a separate incident,a resident of Bapu Dham Colony alleged that Bihar resident Jeetu had abducted and raped her 13-year-old daughter on April 26. A case of rape has been registered.
