2 motorbikes stolen in city

Chandigarh: Two separate cases of automobile theft were registered Monday. In one,a resident of Sector 16 alleged that his Pulsar motorbike was stolen in Sector 8 on June 1. A case has been registered in Sector 3 police station. In another,a resident of New Indira Colony,Mani Majra alleged that his Splendor motorbike was stolen from Grain Market,Sector 26 on June 5. A case has been registered in Sector 26 police station. No arrests have been made so far in both the cases.

PU teachers to donate one day’s salary for flood victims

CHANDIGARH: In an executive meeting of the Panjab University Teachers Association (PUTA) held on Monday,it has been decided that all the PU teachers will donate one day’s salary to the Prime Minister Relief Fund for Uttarakhand. In a meeting held on the issue of the tragedy in Uttarakhand,the PUTA has expressed its deep sense of sorrow and grief for all those who lost their lives in the recent flash floods in Uttarakhand.

Ambala land grab case: 2 suspended

Ambala: The Deputy Commissioner and Commissioner,Municipal Corporation,Ambala Shekhar Vidyarthi placed two employees of the civic body under suspension for dereliction of duty. Vidyarthi took action after MC building inspector Kuldip Kumar and lease clerk Surinder Kumar reportedly did not perform their duty in the land grab case of Palika Colony Ambala Cantonment.
