The final day of the three-day ENT surgical workshop at PGIMER commenced with a live demonstration of Endoscopic Dacryocystorhinostomy by Prof Ashok Gupta. Endoscopic dacryocystorhinostomy is an extended application of endoscopic sinus surgery used for treating patient with increased watering from eyes due to a block in the system which drains the tears from the eye to the nose.

Rural camp for women and children

Over 120 women and children attended a health camp held at Mauli Jagran on Sunday by Fortis Hospital,Mohali. It was held as part of its ongoing National Nutrition Week celebrations. Giving information on common health problems such as anemia,constipation,protein and calcium deficiency prevalent amongst the economically backward class,the camp also aimed to highlight one single,wholesome meal. Several low cost,high nutrition recipes such as bajra khichdi ,sprouts and vegetable upma and poha were taught to the participants. The talk also included sanitation in homes to help prevent various food-borne diseases.
