Green drive to create awareness about trees

PANCHKULA: Deputy Commissioner Ashima Brar will inaugurate a tree plantation drive at Mata Mansa Devi Complex on July 13 at 9 am. On the same day she will also launch a plantation campaign at the Government Senior Secondary School,Barwala,at 10 am. An official spokesman,on Tuesday,said the drive was being carried out with an aim to create awareness among the people about the significance of trees in keeping the environment pollution free.

Ashram founder dies

CHANDIGARH: Suraj Handa,the man behind establishing Kusht Ashram in Sector 47, a state awardee and the first Rotarian from the country to receive the ServiceAbove Self Award” from Rotary international died here at his residence in Sector 18 on Tuesday. His body will be donated to PGI as per his last wishes.
