NSUI demands reduction in PU handbook price

The National Students Union of India (NSUI) PU unit President Sunny Mehta submitted a memorandum to PUs Vice Chancellor demanding a reduction in price of the University handbook of information. The handbook costs Rs 500 presently. The memorandum states that it is very unreasonable as a student applying for a particular course has no interest in getting information about other courses being conducted by the University. Hence,all information about all courses becomes useless for any candidate. Hence we request you to provide the handbook of information on no profit,no loss basis and only the actual cost of printing should be charged from the students, read a statement in the memorandum.

Admissions open for PU Gandhian Studies

The Department of Gandhian Studies,Panjab University will conduct an Aptitude Test for admission to its MA first semester course on Gandhian and Peace Studies for the 2011-12 session on July 8 at 10 am. The test will be followed by interviews at 12 pm on the same day. Both written tests and interviews are compulsory for admission to MA first semester in this subject. Any graduate with 50 per cent marks is eligible for admission to this course. For further information the candidate may contact the office of the Department on any working day between 9 am to 5 pm. The last date for submission of applications in the department is July 4.

Last date for submitting physics forms changed

The last date for submitting applications for admission to the self-financed courses of B Sc (Hons. School) and M Sc (Hons. School) in Physics and Electronics (23 + 3 NRI seats in each course) for the 2011-12 academic session has been changed to July 4. For details,one may check the PU website http://www.puchd.ac.in.
