They also torched BJP flags and an effigy representing the ruling party. One of the protestors criticised the Centre for punishing the innocents and allowing the guilty to escape punitive action.

The National Students' Union of India (NSUI) members had earlier sat on a protest outside the Vice Chancellor's office, saying that programs which divide the students on the basis of their religion, should not be allowed in the university.

New Delhi, Jan 07 (ANI): The National Students' Union of India (NSUI) members staged a protest outside the Vice Chancellor's office here on Thursday against the Delhi University's decision to allow a seminar on Ram Janmabhoomi temple. The two-day seminar titled "Shri Ram Janma Bhoomi Temple: Emerging Scenario" is scheduled to begin on January 9 at the Delhi University's Arts Faculty.
