Two days after they claimed to have cracked the murder case of DSP Balraj Singh Gill and a woman,Monica Kapila,the police on Saturday arrested two more accused.
With this six people have been arrested in the sensational murder case. Three of the accused were arrested on Thursday while another was held late on Friday.
Gill and Kapila were brutally murdered on February 2 at a farmhouse near Golf Link Apartments on Hambran Road,7 km from Ludhiana.
The two persons arrested on Saturday include Davinder Kumar,who had changed the number plates of both the cars,and Rinku,who helped the accused sell the cars in Gurdaspur area.
DCP Ashish Choudhary said that the duo is being charged with destroying the evidence. Earlier,an Inspector had met Davinder Kumar during investigations,but he had then denied changing the number plates. Now,he and Rinku face charges of destroying the evidence, the DCP added.
The police had earlier arrested Harvinder Singh,Pritpal Singh and Umesh Krar on Thursday. Their fourth accomplice,Hassanjit,was arrested on Friday.
Meanwhile,a police party along with divers launched search operations at the Budha Nullah area near Jainpur for the clothes and other items that the accused have confessed to have thrown there.
