Anna effect: Real estate developers not to pay bribes

The ongoing movement against corruption led by Anna Hazare seems to have inspired the real estate developers in Punjab — major developers have announced that they will not pay bribes in the future to government officials to get their projects approved.

The ongoing movement against corruption led by Anna Hazare seems to have inspired the real estate developers in Punjab — major developers have announced that they will not pay bribes in the future to government officials to get their projects approved.

The Punjab Chapter of Confederation of Real Estate Developers’ Association of India (CREDAI),which was formed recently after the merger of Punjab Colonizers and Builders Association,has announced that it will take an oath against corruption in their national level conference to be held in Chandigarh on September 2 and 3.

Speaking to mediapersons on Wednesday,Punjab CREDAI Chairman Anil Chopra and president Kulwant Singh said they were taking only those developers as their members who were government authorised. Chopra said they will create awareness among other developers to carve out only legal colonies.

Asked to name few involved in illegal trade,he avoid to name such colonisers as well as officials responsible for not taking action against such people.
