Admn orders probe into Strawberry Fields land use

The CBI has already begun a preliminary enquiry against Administration officials and DDF directors. Mohali resident Manpreet Singh had complained that officials had allowed DDF to run a commercial venture in the form of a school on land allotted for a different purpose. The one-acre plot was allotted to BSS in 1967 for “cultural and beneficent purposes” at the rate of Rs 6 per sq yard,and additional acreage at the rate of Rs 4 per sq yard.

Ajoy Sharma said,“I have received the orders. I have been asked to complete the probe within 30 days and submit a report.” DDF director Atul Khanna did not respond to phone calls and messages seeking his version.
