After the Central Government refused to allow another extension to UT Deputy Commissioner R K Rao,a Haryana cadre IAS officer, the Administration has sought a fresh panel of officers from the Haryana Government to replace Rao. Interestingly, the Administration has sought a panel of only direct IAS officers.
A letter written to Haryana Chief Secretary by Joint Secretary (Personnel),UT Administration, reads,The term of inter-cadre deputation of R K Rao,IAS,is due to expire on July 29,2009 and as such, you are requested to send a panel of three direct recruit IAS officers in the Junior Administrative Grade for consideration for appointment as Deputy Commissioner,UT,Chandigarh,on inter-cadre deputation, along with their C R Dossiers (in original) to this Administration.
It may also be ensured that no criminal/ departmental proceedings are pending/ contemplated against any of the officers recommended in the panel and that they are clear from the vigilance angle, the letter adds.
Rao has been the Deputy Commissioner of Chandigarh since May 2005.
UT Administrator General (Retd) S F Rodrigues had recommended Raos name for extension till May 2010,but the Central Government refused.
