You have seen him dishing out cricket gyaan on television,now actor Sameer Kochhar is padding up for two films releasing one after another,both with him in the lead. Both are detective stories about murder, says Kochhar,28.
The first film is the Jagmohan Mundra-directed Chase,where he plays a rogue assassin who is out to eliminate enemies of the state. In the second,an Apurva Lakhia production called Hide n Seek,Kochhar will be seen as a rich businessman who achieves success early on in life. I have always looked forward to doing action roles. Both movies were physically demanding and I have performed all stunts myself like car chases,jumping off rooftops, says the actor,whose roles in the films Zeher and Jannat was well received. With my forthcoming films,I hope to make a mark for myself in action roles, he says,having already signed up as the host for IPL,Season III,on television.
Kochhar wants to strike a balance between the small and big screens.
I am an actor first. I chose to host the IPL on television because I was not speaking from a sportsmans perspective. There was the glamour factor involved, says Kochhar,currently in Delhi to celebrate his fathers birthday.
