A YAD show

The SAD rally at Moga was a Youth Akali Dal (YAD) show all the way.

The SAD(B) rally at Moga was a Youth Akali Dal (YAD) show all the way.

Patron YAD Bikramjit Singh Majithia was the man of the day with his brigade manning the rally at all possible points. The area where this cadre failed in its duty was to motivate the crowd enough to bring them inside the pandal.

Be it be drinking water, manning the traffic, langer, bathrooms, lunch,VIP and VVIP care,YAD cadres donning blue turbans with yellow ribbons tied on their heads could be seen everywhere. They also overlooked the distribution of free langar, fruits, peanuts, drinking water and tea among the crowd.

Majithia too did not miss the opportunity to garner some brownie points for himself and his brigade. During his speech,he said: “We have been here for almost a week now. And the youth, which is usually blamed for being irresponsible, has proved today that given a task, they will ensure that it is done to its best. The flowers on this stage or the party flags hoisted all around are jobs done by these very boys and not by some hired labour.”

So charged up was Majithia that he even sought permission from the chief minister to “just give us little liberty and this Captain Amarinder Singh, who talks of khoonda and all, will run for his life”. “These very boys who can spread the carpets on the ground for the people to sit on can also make a man fear for his life. This youth brigade swears by Shaheed Bhagat Singh, who laid down his life for an independent India. We are ready to sacrifice our lives for a SAD(B) government which can create a new Punjab,” he added.

While Sukhbir called the YAD cadre soormas,Parkash Singh Badal said: Not only do I appreciate the efforts made by YAD,but also offer my highest respect at the feet of this youth which is the future of the state.”
