A brush with beauty

One would call it a natural progression. From landscapes,treescapes to environment and spiritualism,artist Satwant Singh Sumail has moved to a new dimension – the emotional dreamscape,a place where heaven and earth meet and give birth to something that’s splendidly enchanting and growing. In his latest series of oil paintings,Sumail has a brush with beauty – nature,and he aptly titles it ‘The Mother’. “For she is the source of life and new beginnings,” he opines as we absorb his work,every brushstroke a labour love,every picture an extension of life,free flowing. “Mother nature is ultimate creation of God,and the human mind is fascinated in various ways by its creations,” explains Sumail interacting with ‘her’ on the canvas,lending a window into her heart and soul.

The exhibition is on at Alliance Francaise,Sector 36 till November 7.
