8 schools perform at theatre fest

Students from eight schools of Chandigarh and Panchkula displayed their remarkable talent and sensitivity towards environmental challenges by performing during the Prithvi Vandana Environmental Theatre Festival at Govt Model High School Sector 38.

Students from eight schools of Chandigarh and Panchkula displayed their remarkable talent and sensitivity towards environmental challenges by performing during the Prithvi Vandana Environmental Theatre Festival at Govt Model High School Sector 38.

Organized in collaboration with local NGO Deeksha,the theme of the festival was global warming and climate change and was inaugurated by the Mayor of Chandigarh,Raj Bala Malik,who complimented the students on their concern for environmental issues.

The event consisted of plays,musical dramas,street play and musicals with the props being used by them made from recycled material.

Director at Deeksha,Tripat Parmar,said to build a sustainable society,we must learn not to rival nature but to cooperate with it and live in harmony and that it is necessary that such education and realization starts early in life of a child.
