3 quacks held

The police on Saturday arrested three quacks,who were practising in Behlana village with fake certificates.

The police on Saturday arrested three quacks,who were practising in Behlana village with fake certificates. They have been identified as Naresh Kumar,Sawpan Singh of Behlana village and Ved Kumar Gupta of Sector 8,Panchkula.

DSP (South) Jaswant Singh Khaira said the Health department and police conducted a joint operation acting on a tip-off by Dr Ayush Dir of Ayurvedic Dispensary,Sector 24. He said the police also recovered fake degrees from their possession,which were seized for further examination.

The quacks had been running their shops for a long time in the locality and many complaints had been filed against them. The police said a case under Section 420 of the Indian Penal Code,Indian Medicine Council Act,1956,Indian Medical Degree Act 1916,and Indian Medical Central Act 1970,was registered at the Sector-31 police station.
