250 challaned for using tinted films

CHANDIGARH: Continuing its drive to comply with the Supreme Court’s order,the Chandigarh Traffic Police issued around 250 challans on Sunday for using tinted films.

Over 750 persons have been penalised for the violation since the order came into effect on May 4. Apart from being penalised,the tinted films from the cars were also removed. The violation draws a fine of Rs 1,000.

The Apex Court’s judgement banned all kinds of black films with any percentage of tint,and only car windows that had been tinted by manufactures will be allowed. Films will have to be removed even if they are with in the permissible limits.
