The problems brewing in the Congress are coming in the open, with two members of the party resigning from their posts. The duo has accused the Congress leadership including the area councillor for the lack of development, and has complained of being sidelined in the party.

The two include S S Bhardwaj,a block president and Satish Sharma,vice-president of District Congress Committee.

They state that new faces comparatively junior in experience and stature were being set up as against them who worked only to put hurdles in working in their area of operation in Sectors 48-51 of the city.

The resignation letter further states that a rebel Congress leader filed nomination from the ward during the municipal elections. However, they ensured that the Congress candidate won. They have alleged that the councillor has failed to acknowledge their help and has given negative reports about them.

They state that none of their workers and supporters were recommended for induction in any committee that is constituted by the Chandigarh Administration. They have alleged that no development work has taken place in their area and no senior leader including Pawan Kumar Bansal has visited.

The resignation by the two comes on the heel of the tussle between Congress councillor Mukesh Bassi and Mayor Subhash Chawla.
