Techie found dead at Bengaluru hotel, police suspect he died by suicide

A police officer said that the incident came to light around 12 noon on Tuesday when he did not respond to the calls made by the hotel staff. “He was staying at the Royal Inn hotel located on Niladri road in Electronic city police limits. On Tuesday, he was scheduled to check out at 12 noon. The hotel staff, who went to check whether he wanted to vacate or continue his stay, knocked on the door. However, there was no response from his end. Sensing something was wrong, the staff used the master key and opened the door to see him lying unconscious in the room.”

The staff immediately informed the Electronic city police and rushed him to a hospital. A police officer said that during the initial probe it was revealed that the man died of asphyxiation.

Asked for a reason behind the death, a police officer said they are yet to ascertain and want to question his parents, friends and colleagues at the office.
