Poor visibility on the airport road flyover in Karnataka’s capital apparently claimed two lives on Monday when a truck, after being rammed by a Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation bus, ran over two drivers who were arguing about a collision that occurred between their vehicles moments earlier.

The Yelahanka traffic police identified the victims as Kuldeep Kumar, 42, the driver of the truck, and Jagadeesh, 40, whose Toyota Innova was rear-ended by the truck near the Legacy Cirocco apartments in Jakkur after 11 pm.

According to the police, the concrete mixer truck severely damaged the Innova’s chassis, triggering a confrontation between the two drivers. When they were arguing with each other standing in front of the truck, it was hit by a speeding BMTC Volvo bus travelling from Rajarajeshwari Nagar to Kempegowda International Airport. The impact caused both drivers to be run over by the truck.

CCTV footage from the bus captured the crash at 11.16 pm.

A BMTC spokesperson said the bus driver was unable to avoid the collision due to poor visibility on the flyover’s downhill section.

While Kuldeep Kumar died at the scene, Jagadeesh succumbed to injuries at a nearby hospital, the police said. They have registered a case and are investigating the incident.
