Kumble appeals to youth to quit drugs

Veteran cricketer Anil Kumble addressed the youth at a drug abuse awareness programme organised by the CID Wednesday at MS Ramaiah Institute of Technology.

He advised them to work hard, be focused and keep away from narcotics. “We need to stay away from drugs, smoking and other anti-social activities. Self-control is the only way to success,” he said.

Noted Kannada actor Vijaya Raghavendra also appealed to the youth to avoid drugs.

The session at MSRIT is the second in a series of drug abuse awareness programmes conducted by the CID at various colleges across the state. “We are trying to make the youth aware of the repercussions of drug usage. Later we plan to conduct raids,” a CID official said.
