Gujarat Pradesh Mahila Congress Committee members on Thursday held demonstrations at several places in the state to protest the alleged “misbehaviour” with the party’s women MP from Dahod,Prabha Kishore Taviad.

The members shouted slogans outside the district collector offices in Vadodara,Anand and Dahod and outside the sub-divisional magistrate’s office at Bhiloda in Banaskantha district.

Women Congress workers also stormed into a function at Rakhial in east Ahmedabad where Chief Minister Narendra Modi was present to inaugurate a hospital. However, they were spirited away and detained by police for several hours.

Party’s women cell president Sonal Patel said protests would be held at other places as well for the next few days. She asked CM to apologise and punish the “guilty” policemen.

Patel alleged Taviad, who was coming out of her house in Dahod, was “pulled by her hair” by male policemen and “forcibly pushed into a police van”.
