Two youths commit suicide in city

Head Constable Dashrat Singh said: “He committed suicide on the same night his wedding was fixed. His family said Bhavsar was perhaps not happy with the girl; but he did not express it to the family.”

In another case,the body of a hearing and speech impaired boy from Sarkhej was found near the Sardar Bridge today two days after he left home. The Ellisbridge police said Mahesh Solanki (30),told his mother that he was going out for two days and took some money from her. His body was found in the Sabarmati on the third day.

The Ellisbridge police said the boy had jumped to his death. The boy’s family reportedly said they are clueless about his suicide.

In the third instance,Parth Panchal (19) attempted suicide by hanging himself at his home in Paldi in the early hours today. The Ellisbridge police said Panchal was under tremendous pressure from his father,an AMTS driver.

Inspector Pandya said: “Panchal was a Class X passout and was unemployed for the last three years. His father,an AMTS driver,is the only breadwinner for the family. He reportedly kept pressurizing Panchal to take up a job,but as Panchal was not educated enough,he was not getting employment anywhere. He took an extreme step after his father picked up a fight with him on Saturday and from the last two days; there were serious tensions in the home.”

Panchal was rushed to V S Hospital where doctors have said he is unable to speak at the moment. It is unclear whether Panchal has completely lost his voice or has only injured his vocal chord,the police quoted the doctors as saying.

The police have registered a case of accidental death for Bhavsar and Solanki’s cases and attempt to suicide in Panchal’s case. Further investigations are on.
