Courts have a tradition that if a lawyer wins the case, the lower-rung court staff demand bakshish from him. On Thursday, one such prominent lawyer at the Gujarat High Court was asked by a staff member for bakshish outside a courtroom after he won a case. The lawyer wrote his name and Rs 100 on a chit and put his signature, and gave it to the man,who took it gladly. For those unfamiliar with this tradition, the bearer of this note could go to the court canteen and buy anything worth Rs 100. The canteen staff will simply credit it to the lawyers account!

On July 30,accompanied by national vice-president Smriti Irani and spokesperson Nirmala Sitharaman,he will lecture at a day-long workshop in Gandhinagar on how to do debates on television channels. The CM will teach BJP workers on how to talk about achievements of the state government and failures of UPA.
