S-I ‘accidentally’ fires at constable,suspended

A probationary sub-inspector posted at Sardarnagar police station here was suspended for negligence Monday,a day after he accidentally shot and and injured a constable.

S-I Vikram Mori was allegedly checking his .38 bore service revolver when it went off. The bullet hit constable Ramesh Mangal Rohit,also posted with the same police station,on the right side of his chest. Rohit was rushed to hospital where his condition was stable,police said.

Inspector K K Patel said although it was an accident,Mori had been suspended for negligence. He said a probe was also on.
