Seven from Bihar held for illegal arms supply

Acting on a tip-off about inter-state gangs smuggling illegal weapons in Gujarat,the state ATS arrested seven persons from Swaminarayan Circle Ring Road near Ahmedabad on Friday night.

Those arrested are Dharmendra Singh Rajput,Kishan Gupta,Gangasagar Giri,Varun Rai Yadav,Arvind Singh Rajput,Vinaykumar Rajput and Rana Singh Rajput,all from Chapra in Bihar.

According to ATS,they had come to supply illegal arms and weapons to inter-state gangs active in Gujarat.

The ATS claimed to have seized three revolvers with 28 live cartridges from them. A few mobile phones,a railway ticket from Chapra to Ahmedabad,two magazines,and Rs 12,570 were also seized.

All seven have been remanded to ATS custody for 10 days.
