A ticket collector with the Railways and a constable with the city police found their pockets picked after boarding trains from the Surat Railway Station on Friday.
On Friday afternoon,Suraj Gupta,a ticket collector,boarded 113 down Surat-Bhusaval passenger train from Surat. After travelling for a distance,Gupta realised his purse,tucked inside his trouser pocket,was missing. It contained his identity card,credit cards,driving licence and some cash. The official later lodged a complaint with the railway police.
In the second incident,Jibhav Sirsath,a constable with Surat police,boarded Gandhidham Express in Surat on Friday. There was heavy rush. Once again,Sirsath realised a while later that his wallet was gone. He discontinued his journey and lodged a complaint railway police in Surat.
Later,the railway police rounded up two persons,identified as Gopi Bagada from Kosad in Surat and Rajkumar Sahani from Udhna. The two reportedly confessed to the crime,Railway police inspector N M Sindhi said.
