The missing Police Constable Dinesh Wala finally returned home late on Wednesday night putting an end to the speculations about his whereabouts and questions the city police have been facing since last four days now.
Police said Wala was under severe depression because of personal reasons and would need medical attention. However, this would also be followed by departmental action since Walas act amounts to dereliction of duty.
It was on October 17,Dinesh Wala, policemen from Chhani police station along with an accused Narendra Patidar left for Madhya Pradesh where they had to appear before a local court in Mandsaur.
After appearing in the court, the team halted at a restaurant for dinner from where Wala went missing.
After desperately tracing Wala, police finally had a sigh of relief when he came back home at around 11pm on Wednesday.
We were worried about him (Wala) as he was on duty, but eventually it turned out to be a case of depression. Wala doesnt have any child and that was the reason for his abnormal behaviour. He was tired as well, and he was apparently a bit reluctant when the team started for Mandsaur.
Through out the journey,he was in a hurry to go back home as he desperately wanted to see his wife. He became restless and angry when the team stopped over a restaurant for dinner as he was fasting and was not too keen to stop and waste any more time on return journey.
He simply drove off the car without thinking anything and could realise the situation only after he must have driven for some time. He immediately stopped the vehicle and abandoned it. He took a bus which was going to Banswada. After getting down at Banswada,he decided to go to Ajmer to offer prayers at the Dargah and after that he called
up his wife and told her the entire story, Vadodara Police Commissioner Satish Sharma said. Wala took a bus to Vadodara and reached home at around 11pm on Wednesday.
