Liquor over Rs 45 lakh seized,three arrested

Police seized Indian-made foreign liquor (IMFL) worth over Rs 45 lakh late Friday night from Bodeli town near Vadodara and arrested three persons in this connection.

Police seized Indian-made foreign liquor (IMFL) worth over Rs 45 lakh late Friday night from Bodeli town near Vadodara and arrested three persons in this connection.

As per details,police team intercepted a truck at Alipura chowk in Bodeli which was on its way to Halol through Bodeli-Halol road,acting on a tip-off that the truck was ferrying liquor.

Upon probe,it was found that liquor of different brands worth Rs 45.4 lakh,including 1,850 bottles were being ferried on the truck.

Along with the truck,total goods worth Rs 60.5 lakh was seized and three persons arrested. The arrested included Sukhwinder Singh Jat and Navjot Singh Jat,who hail from Punjab,and Pratapsinh Rathod,who is from Rajasthan,police said.

The trio were booked under the prohibition Act. Further investigation was on as to where the truck was being taken to,police said.
