Homai Vyarawalla, the first woman photographer in India,is angry. The Nano car, which was promised to the 96-year-old on a priority basis,is yet to arrive at her doors. She has now procured a cancellation form for the Tata Motors’ car.

Vyarawalla, who was eagerly waiting to drive a Nano after she parted with her 55-year-old Fiat, was informed about the company’s decision to allot her the car on priority basis. However, she has not got the car so far.

“I have got the form for the cancellation of Nano. I cannot wait endlessly for the new car. Age is not on my side and I do not want to wait too long,” Vyarawalla said, adding,“I will post the cancellation form soon.”

Vyarawalla had expressed her desire to own a Nano, but was apprehensive about her chances of getting it in the lucky draw system of allotment. Later,a Vadodara dealer promised her the car on priority basis. A Central Bank of India official had also reportedly visited her to collect the deposit amount of Rs 95,000.

Mayank Shah from Miles Motors,a Tata Nano dealer, said: “I do have the information that Vyarawalla will get her Nano either in August or September first week.”
