Amul — the co-operative milk brand — has claimed that it has surpassed the sales figures in Delhi with 15 lakh litres a day.
The dairy giant stated that it had overtaken Mother Dairy,its closest competitor in the milk segment.
Amul Milk had started its Delhi sales in 2005,taking on Mother Dairy,which dominated the Delhi market. Amul managers said they gained the market edge due to superior quality of milk. According to Amul,they now lead the packaged branded milk segment in three Indian metros — Delhi,Mumbai and Kolkata. Incidentally,Amul sells at a higher price than Mother Dairy in Delhi in both the segments of full cream and toned milk. According to projections,Amul Milk sales in Delhi might cross 20 lakh litres per day this summer.

State gas major hikes CNG retail price in Gujarat
State government-owned Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation (GSPC) Gas Company Ltd,on Wednesday,increased CNG price by Rs 1.75 per kg,taking the clean fuel’s price to Rs 29.75 per kg.
“We have decided to increase the price of CNG at our retail outlets,” a senior official of the company said.
The company is the largest marketer of CNG in the state,and the move to increase price came after other players like HPCL,Adani Energy and Gujarat Gas company hiked the retail price of the fuel. GSPC’s subsidiary company operates 65 retail outlets of CNG in the state.
Earlier,HPCL and Adani Energy had increased CNG prices to Rs 30.62 in last October and November,respectively.

Dharna held against Torrent’s move to hike tariff
Hour-long dharnas were organised at 10 places in the city to protest against the reported move of Torrent Power Limited to hike the tariff with effect from the last week of March this year. TPL has already submitted its proposals with the Gujarat Electricity Regulatory Commission for an approval to hike tariff.
Social activists Nadeem Saiyed and Noorjehan Diwan said that there was no logic behind the hike as as the company was already earning a huge profit.

Chimanbhai’s death anniversary observed
A prayer meeting was held today at Narmada ghat in Gandhinagar on the 16th death anniversary of former Chief Minister Chimanbhai Patel. Among those who attended the prayer were Chimanbhai’s widow Urmilaben Patel,son Siddharth Patel,Leader of the Opposition in the state Assembly Shaktisinh Gohil,former deputy chief minister Narhari Amin and GPCC spokesperson Jayantilal Parmar.
