A patient in the Amraiwadi area died on the way to the hospital on Saturday after he complained of choking and breathlessness resulting out of the intake of pills allegedly to ease bodyache. The police said Dhanji Makwana (35),a resident of the slum quarters,was suffering from piles,which often led to bodyache. After taking medicine,Makwana choked and complained of breathlessness. He suffered fits and could not even stand up and walk. By the time he reached the hospital,he had died,the police said.

Hit by cow,motorist dies in hospital
A resident of Naranpura in Ahmedabad died of injuries after being hit by a stray cow near the Nayaknagar area on Saturday. The police said Dinesh Shah (58) was passing from a by-lane behind the Hall Stadium on his motorcycle when the animal charged at him from behind,knocking him off the bike.
He was rushed to the V S Hospital where he died five hours later of several head injuries and multiple fractures. The police said incidents of stray cattle injuring motorists and blocking traffic in the city have risen. Areas like Wadaj,Naranpura,Vastrapur and Vejalpur are particularly affected. The police have lodged a case of accidental death and are further probing the matter.
