Gujarat govt grabbing adivasis’ land,alleges Cong

A delegation of the Gujarat Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) members,which visited Shamlaji,has alleged that the state government was grabbing adivasis’ land to transfer it to rich non-adivasis.

In a report,they alleged that the government was demolishing adivasis houses on the pretext of implementing town planning schemes in this pilgrimage township. The report said that 30 per cent of the land belonging to adivasis was being taken over by the government to implement the TP scheme to allot it to religious trusts. But the trusts were using it for commercial purposes.

The delegation comprised of tribal MP Dr Prabhaben Taviad, MLA Anil Joshiara and Sabarkantha Zilla panchayat member Dr D B Damor.
