Gambling in resort: 3 constables shifted

Three constables posted at Ellisbridge police station have been transferred to city police headquarters for allegedly showing negligence against gambling activities in Sudama Resorts in their neighbourhood. The constables have been transferred to the K company of the city police headquarters. The company is considered to be a punishment posting as it is mainly called for bandobast but no important assignments are given to it. Ahmedabad Police Commissioner S K Saikia had earlier suspended three senior officials after a raid on the resort on June 29 and arrested 114 persons from the spot. The squad had seized cash,cheques and valuables of Rs 1.27 crore from the resorts.
