The Maharaja Sayajirao University (MSU) has signed memoranda of understanding (MoUs) with three German universities recently while two more are expected to be signed soon, according to the universitys International Affairs director.
The MoUs have been signed between the Frankfurt-based European Universitys Faculty of Economics and Business Administration and MSUs Faculty of Commerce (a first foreign MoU for MSUs commerce faculty); between the University of Bamberg and all MSU faculties, and between the University of Osnabrucks Institute of Psychology at the Faculty of Human Sciences and MSUs Department of Human Development and Family Studies,Faculty of Family and Community Sciences.
The text and content of future MoUs between (Weingarten-based University of Education and Faculty of Education and Psychology, and Schwäbisch Gmünd-based University of Education and Department of German,Faculty of Arts) have been finalised and very shortly the MoUs will be signed and executed, said professor Sharad N Bansal, the IA director.
Broadly, the MoUs include agreements on student, faculty and staff exchanges, exchange of publications, promotion of academic and cultural activities such as short term courses, seminars, workshops and conferences of mutual interest and joint research projects.
One of the most important features of all these MoUs is that each host institution will waive tuition and other fees incurred by the exchange student for registration and admission. This clause will help the students from MSU to visit these universities, which otherwise have very high fee structure, said the director.
