Class VIII student attempts suicide

A student of Class VIII who failed for second time in the school’s final examination attempted suicide by setting herself ablaze in her house in Vyara,on Friday. The victim’s condition is reported to be critical.

A student of Class VIII who failed for second time in the school’s final examination attempted suicide by setting herself ablaze in her house in Vyara,on Friday. The victim’s condition is reported to be critical.

According to case details,Khushboo (15),a resident of Vyara town was depressed when she was declared fail in her Class VIII examination. After returning from her school K K Kadam,she started crying. Her father Rakesh Tarsaiya,a grocery store owner,was also unhappy to see her result card. Khushboo later doused herself with kerosene and set herself ablaze in the bathroom of the house. Hearing her cries,Rakesh broke open the bathroom’s door and rushed her to the nearby Janak Smarak Hospital.

Later,Khushboo was shifted to Mahavir Hospital at Surat as her condition continued to be critical. Vyara police said failure for the second time in the same class could have led Khushboo to attempt suicide.
