Along came Tote
After astounding our senses with fabulous food at Indigo,Indigo Deli,Indigo Café and the Hemingway-inspired catering service The Moveable Feat,one of the country’s best-loved chefs Rahul Akerkar,along with wife Malini and cousin Rishad Nathani,lays it on us again. Tote is a spectacular stretch of feasting and elbow-bending at the Mahalaxmi racecourse (Mumbai); 25,000 square feet with a restaurant,banquet halls and stylish bar. But more than the sprawl,the cunning interiors by Kapil Gupta—resembling a bleached forest—did it.

The opening party had the entire city and its hairdresser in attendance (how else can you fill the space?). Sheetal Mafatlal came with Manish Malhotra,Imran Khan with a newly-trim Avantika,Tarun Tahiliani in spectacular black pin-tucks,Aki Narula,Suneet Varma,Jamal Mecklai,Anil Chopra,Sameera Reddy,James Ferreira and almost everyone else you can think of.

Showstopper Rahul,togged in his crisp chef’s coat,tending bar and still working.

The Brit way
The Crepe Station gang,Nicolo Morea,Swaraaj Kapoor and Ravi Sharma,has opened a new place in Bandra—the Elbo Room,a new colonial-style pub opened in the city last week,some famous faces were invited for a sneak peek on Thursday. The party started early and went on to the wee hours. Guests included Yuvraj Singh,Sohail Khan,Dino Morea,Jackie Shroff,Chunky Pandey,Sahil Shroff,Farhan Azmi,Shyan Munshi, Rocky S,Ness Wadia,Aftab Shivdasani and the beauteous model Pia Trivedi. Everyone admired the Brit atmosphere.

Showstopper Jackie and Sohail spent a lot of time chatting and partook of some genuine bonhomie.
