2 booked for tax evasion in Vadodara

Vadodara: Officials of the Central excise commissionerate booked two persons for allegedly evading tax duties through illicit manufacture and sale of gutkha from a premises in Vasna in Anands Borsad taluka. While one Paresh Amin was arrested,another Ashwin Patel is on the run. Two gutkha-filling machines and various raw materials used for making gutkha were seized. According to officials,the duo have evaded central excise duty of more than Rs 1 crore.

GNLU wins Moot Court competition

Gandhinagar: Students from the GNLU won the School of Law Christ Universitys Moot Court competition. The team composed of Shivangi Agarwal,Prerna Jain and Avani Sahajpal. GNLU students Jhora Dasgupta and Gayathree Devi K. T d vied with students from NLU Bangalore,Hyderabad,Kolkata and Jodhpur and have been selected for the prestigious Aditya Birla Scholarship-2013.
