VADODARA: A 13-year-old girl died and 14 others were taken ill after consuming food at marriage party in Sukhsar village in Dahod,health officials said on Friday. Around 15 people were admitted to a hospital in Fatehpura block near here last night after they complained of stomach ache and diarrhoea.

After the marriage ceremony,which got over around Thursday noon,the leftover food was distributed among 15 people in the evening. The food had already spoiled by then but it was not taken into notice, said D N Patel,Epidemic Medical Officer,Dahod. Sources said first the girl showed symptoms of diarrhoea and was taken to an ayurvedic hospital. However,after her condition worsened,she was rushed to a nearby community health centre on Friday morning. She died around 5.30 am. Following this,a team from the Health Department found out the other 14 people,who had consumed the food. They were all admitted in the CHC, said Patel.
