Another quick-rich fraud surfaces,top cop orders probe

Victims of a quick-rich scheme created a ruckus outside the office of Ahmedabad police commissioner on Thursday,alleging that they had lost money invested in a company — Nimbulness Pvt Ltd,in the CG Road area.

Victims of a quick-rich scheme created a ruckus outside the office of Ahmedabad police commissioner on Thursday,alleging that they had lost money invested in a company — Nimbulness Pvt Ltd — in the CG Road area.

The protesters claimed that the amount of fraud is estimated to be of Rs 22 crore. The company was run by three partners: Mehboob Chhipa,Asif Yuniwala and Jahangir Alotwala,they said.

“We have ordered an investigation in this,” said Police Commissioner Sudhir Sinha.

Following the order,the Navrangpura police lodged a case against the company owners.

The city has witnessed similar frauds in recent past in which Abhay Gandhi,Imtiaz Saiyed and Vinod Dutta are the main accused. While Saiyed and Dutta have been arrested,Gandhi is absconding.

In another such incident that surfaced two days back,one Rehana Chhipa alleged that Adil Ansari,Inayat Pathan,Irfan Sheikh and Hasan Pathan have duped several people of crores of rupees through their investment company,Fortune Felicity Ltd,at Shahpur. She worked as an agent for the company.

After Chhipa filed a complaint,one of the ‘victims’,Hamidullah Pathan,alleged that he and several others had invested over Rs 6 crore in the Fortune Felicity,which they lost.

According to Chhipa,the owners had hired several agents to attract investments while promising double returns.
