5 Naswadi archers to get SAG award

Five archers from Naswadi taluka will be awarded by the Sports Authority of Gujarat (SAG) for their performance in the state and the national-level competitions held last year.

Five archers from Naswadi taluka will be awarded by the Sports Authority of Gujarat (SAG) for their performance in the state and the national-level competitions held last year. The archers will be given an amount of Rs 35,000 each.

The archers,including Dinesh Bhil (30),Raman Bhil (22),Garachiya Bhil (20),Jagdish Bhil (20) and Vikram Bhil (20),will be felicitated on February 13. All the archers belong to the Eklavya Academy in Naswadi.

“We will be using the amount to benefit the academy and other upgradation of the infrastructural requirements,” said Dinesh Bhil,who runs the academy.

Earlier this month,the group had bagged all three spots in the state-level archery competition held in Sabarkantha.

“The group has been doing magnificently well and are also leaving for a national-level competition later this month. The award by SAG will help boost their enthusiasm and confidence,” said Dinesh Chaudhary,Vadodara District Sports Officer.
