Former acting Jathedar of Akal Takht Giani Harpreet Singh was Monday unanimously elected the new president of the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) faction.
The new faction has been set up by the members of the committee that was constituted initially by the Sri Akal Takht Sahib, the supreme temporal seat of the Sikhs, on December 2 last year for the reorganisation of the SAD.
