Virendra Kumar biography
Virendra Kumar Khatik is a political leader from Madhya Pradesh and a member of the Bhartiya Janata Party. He is the incumbent Member of the Parliament from Madhya Pradesh’s Tikamgarh constituency. He was born on February 27, 1954, in Sagar, Madhya Pradesh, to his parents, Amar Singh and Sumat Rani.
He started his political career as a member of RSS and ABVP before officially joining mainstream politics with BJP. He won four back-to-back Lok Sabha elections from the Sagar seat before switching to the Tikamgarh seat in the 2009 Lok Sabha elections.
He won the 2009 Lok Sabha election and went on to retain his seat in the 2014 and 2019 Lok Sabha elections, marking his seventh consecutive term in the lower house of the Indian Parliament.
He is currently Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment and has also served as the chairperson of the Standing Committee on Labour and a Member of the General Purpose Committee.
