Shruti Chaudhary biography

Shruti Chaudhary, daughter of senior Congress leader Kiran Chaudhary and granddaughter of former Haryana Chief Minister Bansi Lal, has been fielded by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) from the Tosham Assembly constituency. Known for her political lineage, Shruti's entry into electoral politics carries the weight of her family's long-standing influence in Haryana’s politics. Her mother, Kiran Chaudhary, is a veteran politician and has represented Tosham multiple times, adding a layer of complexity to Shruti’s candidacy from the same seat.

Shruti began her political career with the Indian National Congress (INC) and was elected as a Member of Parliament from the Bhiwani-Mahendragarh constituency in 2009. During her tenure, she focused on issues like rural development, women's empowerment, and infrastructure improvements. However, her switch to the BJP signals a significant shift in her political journey.

By fielding Shruti from Tosham, the BJP aims to consolidate its position in a constituency with a strong family legacy. Her candidacy is seen as a strategic move to challenge the dominance of Congress in the region, particularly as she faces her own mother’s political legacy. Shruti Chaudhary's focus on development and governance will be central to her campaign as she seeks to make a mark in this key electoral battle.
