Ram Kripal Yadav is a political leader from Bihar and a member of the Bhartiya Janata Party. He is a former Member of Parliament from Bihar’s Patliputra Lok Sabha seat. He was born on October 12, 1957, in Patna, Bihar. He was affiliated with the Rashtriya Janata Dal until 2014 when he decided to switch sides with BJP.
His national political stint started in 1991 when he won the Lok Sabha elections from Patliputra seat. He went on to win two more times, in 1996 and 2004, from the same seat. He did not contest the election in 2009, as Lalu Yadav decided to contest from the seat himself, which he later lost.
He expressed his desire to contest the 2014 Lok Sabha elections from Patliputra once again, but after being denied the ticket by RJD, he decided to switch sides to BJP in 2014. He then went on to win the 2014 and 2019 Lok Sabha elections from the Patliputra seat once again.
However, in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, he lost to RJD leader and Lalu Yadav's daughter Misa Bharti by 85, 174 votes.
