ABOUT Rahul Roy

Rahul Roy: A Career Retrospective Rahul Roy, born February 9, 1966, is an Indian actor, producer, and former model whose career spans Hindi films and television. His cinematic journey began with the 1990 blockbuster Aashiqui, a Mahesh Bhatt production that catapulted him to stardom opposite Anu Aggarwal. This success was followed by roles in films like Sapne Sajan Ke (1992) with Karishma Kapoor. Roy's collaboration with Bhatt continued with Phir Teri Kahani Yaad Aayee (1993), a film based on Bhatt's life where Roy portrayed the filmmaker. This was a significant project, being Zee TV's first mainstream production. He also starred in Vikram Bhatt's directorial debut, Jaanam. Beyond acting, Roy's entrepreneurial spirit led him to establish Rahul Roy Productions, releasing Elaan in 2011. He also achieved recognition beyond the silver screen, winning the first season of the reality show Bigg Boss in 2006. The actor has been conferred a life membership of the International Film And Television Club of Asian Academy of Film & Television. While recent film appearances are less frequent, his contributions to the Indian entertainment landscape remain noteworthy. His iconic roles in early 1990s romantic dramas cemented his place in Bollywood's history.
