Provide information on masks, hand sanitisers by end of day: NPPA to manufacturers

Last week, NPPA directed all manufacturers and importers of surgical and protective masks, gloves and hand sanitisers to furnish information on these items by March 17, 2020.

The move comes in response to representations by pharmaceutical companies to relax price ceilings of several medicines, they added. Even before the price control move was instituted, only 40 per cent of the stents used in the country were indigenously manufactured; the rest were imported. With prices of imported stents and Indian stents now being the same, doctors and patients could prefer the imported devices.
