Kapil Sharma

Kapil Sharma is an Indian stand-up comedian who currently hosts the popular comedy show The Kapil Sharma Show on Suny channel. He is quite active in anchoring several television shows and events and had made his Bollywood debut as a lead in the film Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon. Born in Amritsar, Kapil came to limelight after winning the comedy reality television show The Great Indian Laughter Challenge in 2007. He went on to participate in Comedy Circus and won its six seasons too. The 35-year-old was also the brain behind Comedy Nights With Kapil that was telecast on Colors. But after a public fallout with the channel, he took his show on Sony. the Kapil Sharma Show is currently one of the highest-rated shows on Indian television. Kapil appeared in the Forbes India Celebrity list in 2012, ranked 95th. He has won several awards including Entertainer of the Year and Best Comedy Show on television. He is fondly known for his unique antics on the stage. His gags are more about a slice of life and connect well with a middle-class Indian. Almost every Bollywood celebrity, famous cricketers and even politicians have appeared as guests on his comedy shows. Kapil has been an active supporter of animal rights and also indulges in singing at various occasions.
