According to police, protesters began attacking the police teams deployed at a public hearing by officials of the Gujarat Pollution Control Board (GPCB) and Tapi collector HK Vadhvaniya in Doswada village to hear the grievances of villagers who are protesting setting up of the plant.
GPCL issued show-cause notice over ‘non-compliance’ with environmental norms

In its notice, the GPCB had asked why the GPCL should not be prosecuted for offences under the Water Act, Air Act and Environment Protection Act. While the power corporation has recently submitted a response in the matter, the GPCB is expected to take further action after verifying the same.
