G. Kishan Reddy, MP from Secunderabad Constituency, held key portfolios of MoS for Home Affairs and Union Minister For Culture, Tourism and Development of North Eastern Region(DoNER) in the Narendra Modi's government from July 2021 to June 2024. After winning the 2024 Lok Sabha election from Secunderabad for the second time in a row, he was named to the list of cabinet ministers and was given the charge of the Ministry of Coal and Ministry of Mines in the Modi-3 government.
Born on July 15, 1960, in Hyderabad, Telangana, Reddy has been an influential figure within the BJP and has held various important positions in both state and central governments.
Kishan Reddy began his political journey at a young age and rose through the ranks of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), the student wing of the RSS. His early association with these organizations laid the foundation for his future political career. Reddy's dedication, organizational skills, and commitment to the party's ideology propelled him into leadership roles within the BJP.
One of the significant milestones in Kishan Reddy's political career was his election as a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) in the undivided Andhra Pradesh in 1994. He continued to serve as an MLA in subsequent terms, representing the Amberpet constituency in Hyderabad.
In 2014, Kishan Reddy was elected as a Member of Parliament (MP) to the Lok Sabha from the Secunderabad constituency. His victory was a testament to his popularity and the trust that the people of Secunderabad had in him.
He retained his seat in the 2019 nad 2024 Lok Sabha elections, becoming a prominent face of the BJP in the state.
